Harvest 2019

The Lindsay Chorale were pleased to have been invited to sing at two Harvest Thanksgiving Services in October 2019. On 13th October they were welcomed by Rev. Dr. David Steers to Ballee Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church where Rev. Brian Moodie gave the address. Then on 27th October the Chorale sang at Tyrella Parish Church where the sermon was given by The Rev. Julie Bell.

Accompanied on both occasions by Darren Day, and directed by Sheelagh Greer, the Chorale sang several pieces including A Thanksgiving Hymn and For the Beauty of the Earth. The Chorale were grateful for the kind hospitality and refreshments provided after each service.

Christ Church Dundonald 18/02/16

Christ Church in Dundonald marked the first outing of the Lindsay Chorale for 2016 as part of their fundraising concert for Christian Aid. The programme this evening included favourites Moon River, Over the Rainbow, and Holy Holy Holy and again Brian Johnston debuted some hilarious new material as compere. We were also joined by the very talented Dr. Gareth Lewis as our accompanist this evening, as Sheelagh was unavailable. Thank you, Gareth, for stepping in!

Thank to you to Christ Church for inviting us to help you raise funds for such a worthy cause and good luck in reaching your total! We also greatly appreciate the wonderful supper you provided for us, it was very generous and we hope to see you again!

Montalto 07-10/12/15

The Lindsay Chorale were delighted to be asked back to sing at Montalto, the stunning estate in Ballynahinch, for their annual series of Christmas Concerts. Following the popularity of the 2014 programme, Montalto extended the concerts to cover 4 nights.

This was a wonderful week of festive music which the Chorale always look forward to. David Anderson from Montalto acted as MC, while John Ashe again entertained us with a selection of Christmas readings. Music this year featured a range of popular and sacred Christmas music, and several new pieced from the Chorale which were warmly received.

The Lindsay Chorale would like to thank their friends at Montalto, especially David, who continue to invite us to provide entertainment for this popular festive week.

Many Happy Returns to Rachel and Brian who celebrated their birthdays during this week!

A very Happy Christmas to you and yours and hope to see you in 2016!

Lindsay Chorale Annual Christmas Concert 05/12/15

This year, the Lindsay Chorale celebrated their inaugural Christmas Concert in the beautiful surroundings of Belmont Presbyterian Church.

This was a fantastic evening of festive music attended by over 300 people from Belmont and neighbouring congregations, with Brian Johnston acting as compere and John Ashe of BBC fame reading seasonal lessons. A festive feast was provided including tea, coffee, and a delicious selection of tray bakes, generously provided by the ladies of the church. The Chorale were delighted to be able to donate £1,000 to Belmont Presbyterian Church’s Development Fund, following the success of the evening.

The Lindsay Chorale would like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this concert such a success; to Joanne Boyd for helping in the logistics, ticket sales, and providing supper; to the ladies of Belmont Presbyterian Church and the Lindsay Chorale who provided baked goods; and to the many businesses on the Belmont Road who publicised and agreed to sell tickets for our concert. We really appreciate your help and hope you enjoyed the evening. We are delighted to confirm that the Lindsay Chorale will be returning to Belmont next year for their second annual Christmas Concert.
