The Lindsay Chorale are looking forward to supporting Phil Coulter at the Elim Complex in Bangor on Friday, 20 March 2020.
The Lindsay Chorale returned to the Montalto Estate on 21st & 22nd December 2019. They sang a variety of Christmas music and carols while guests enjoyed a festive afternoon tea in the beautifully decorated Carriage Rooms. It was an uplifting finish to the Chorale’s 2019 engagements. Special thanks again to Sheelagh Greer for her superb musical directorship and to Darren Day for providing piano accompaniment.
The Lindsay Chorale held a Wine & Cheese evening concert in The Queen’s Hall, Newtownards, on Friday 29th November 2019. This was the third successive year for the Chorale to host such an event and it again proved to be a thoroughly enjoyable evening for all.
The programme included favourites such as Anthem (from the musical Chess), Bridge Over Troubled Water and The Impossible Dream as well as some Christmas music to start the festive season. Audience participation was encouraged during The Twelve Days of Christmas and during an entertaining performance by John Weir (with a special guest assistant) of Funiculi Funicula.
On 10 November 2019 The Lindsay Chorale performed in The Carriage Rooms at Montalto Estate, Ballynahinch as part of a Cancer Focus NI fundraising event.
Guests had the opportunity to browse local craft sellers stalls before enjoying a traditional afternoon tea in the exquisite Carriage Rooms. The Chorale performed a varied repertoire at the event with the Chorale’s own John Weir performing a number of solo pieces to add to the afternoon’s entertainment.
The Lindsay Chorale were pleased to have been invited to sing at two Harvest Thanksgiving Services in October 2019. On 13th October they were welcomed by Rev. Dr. David Steers to Ballee Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church where Rev. Brian Moodie gave the address. Then on 27th October the Chorale sang at Tyrella Parish Church where the sermon was given by The Rev. Julie Bell.
Accompanied on both occasions by Darren Day, and directed by Sheelagh Greer, the Chorale sang several pieces including A Thanksgiving Hymn and For the Beauty of the Earth. The Chorale were grateful for the kind hospitality and refreshments provided after each service.
The Choir have just returned from a fantastic trip to Donegal over the weekend of 13th and 14th May. They had the pleasure of singing to the good folk in Tamney on Saturday night followed by singing the Sunday service in Rosnakill Parish Church.
Thanks to all our friends in Donegal for your wonderful warm welcome and hospitality. Hopefully see you again next year!
The Lindsay Chorale’s 21st Annual Concert will be held on Friday 21 April 2017, at 7.45pm in 2nd Saintfield Presbyterian Church Hall.
It promises to be a fantastic evening of music and song provided by the Chorale and their special guests, Festival Brass.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
