The Lindsay Chorale Annual Concert 17/04/15

The highlight of the Lindsay Chorale’s season is always their Annual Concert, and this year was no exception. This year’s Annual Concert was staged in Second Saintfield Presbyterian Church and the Chorale was delighted to be joined by guests Wellington Memorial Silver Band and mezzo- soprano, Sheelagh Greer. Chorale member and bass singer, Brian Johnston, compered and entertained both Chorale and audience alike with his jokes and ‘yarns’. This year’s varied repertoire included; Climbing Over Rocky Mountains, West Side Story, The Lark in the Clear Air, and I Do Like to be Beside the Seaside, ensuring all musical tastes were catered for!

Thank you to everyone who came to support us, and to Second Saintfield Presbyterian Church for hosting us.

Montalto Estate, Ballynahinch 09/12/14 – 11/12/14

The Lindsay Chorale finished a busy Christmas Season with three nights’ singing at the beautiful Montalto Estate in Ballynahinch. Montalto Estate General Manager, David Anderson, hosted the three consecutive Christmas services featuring a selection of Christmas music and recitations by the Chorale, finishing off with an audience participation number! The music was interspersed with festive readings from Dickens, Laurie Lee, and an entry from the Diary of the Reverend Francis Kilvert, read by John Ashe.

Ballyclare Old Presbyterian Church 05/12/14

On a wintry night, the Chorale travelled to Ballyclare Old Presbyterian Church to sing at their annual Carol Service. The first half was a mixture of secular and sacred music with the second half being devoted to popular Christmas Carols. A glass of mulled wine and some mince pies completed a great evening’s singing!

First Saintfield Presbyterian Church 03/12/2014

The Lindsay Chorale were delighted to be asked back to perform at First Saintfield Presbyterian Church, the same church where the late Tom Lindsay formed the Chorale many years ago. They sang a variety of Christmas Carols as entertainment for the ‘Touch Club’, which organises activities and afternoon tea for the senior members of the church. The Chorale also greatly appreciated the delicious Christmas tea of sandwiches, cakes, mince pies, and trifle they were served after. At the end of the concert, Santa made a guest appearance and had even brought presents for the Chorale!
